Seljavallalaug
📍 South Iceland
📖 Description
Seljavallalaug is Iceland's oldest swimming pool, built in 1923 and fed by natural geothermal water. Set in a narrow gorge between steep grassy mountain walls, it feels completely removed from the modern world. The pool is free, unheated except by the spring, and largely undiscovered despite being only 2 km off the Ring Road. The 15-minute walk through the gorge, with waterfalls on the cliff walls, is reason enough to visit.
