Kerið Crater
📍 South Iceland
📖 Description
Kerið is a 3,000-year-old volcanic explosion crater with strikingly red and ochre walls dropping 55 metres to a vivid aquamarine lake. The colour contrast blood-red volcanic soil against intense blue-green water makes it one of Iceland's most visually striking natural features. A path circles the entire rim in under 15 minutes and a steep path leads to the lake.
