Hraunfossar
๐ West Iceland
๐ Description
Hraunfossar is unlike any other waterfall in Iceland hundreds of crystal-clear springs emerge from beneath a 900-year-old lava field for almost a kilometre along the riverbank. The water has filtered through porous lava since the Hallmundarhraun eruption and surfaces in a long curtain of blue-green ribbons flowing into the glacial Hvรญtรก river. Accessible year-round, this geological curiosity is one of Iceland's most unexpected natural wonders.
