Selfoss Waterfall sits just 1.5 km upstream from the famous Dettifoss, yet receives only a fraction of its visitors. Where Dettifoss is overpowering and grey, Selfoss is wide and graceful spreading across 100 metres of basalt shelves in layered cascades. Most visitors who reach Dettifoss walk straight past the Selfoss viewpoint without stopping.
