Lóndrangar
📍 West Iceland
📖 Description
Lóndrangar are two volcanic plugs rising 75 and 61 metres from the coastal lava shelf remnants of an ancient crater whose flanks were eroded by the sea. The taller is called the "Christian Pillar", the shorter the "Heathen Pillar". Thousands of seabirds nest here in summer, and the surrounding basalt lava shelf creates an extraordinary natural platform reaching to the ocean edge.
