Aldeyjarfoss is a dramatic 20-metre waterfall in the Skjálfandafljót river, framed by a perfect crown of symmetrical basalt columns. Unlike its famous neighbour Goðafoss, this waterfall sees almost no visitors despite being arguably more beautiful. The contrast between the dark hexagonal columns and the white foaming water is unforgettable.
